IRSA

July 5, 2012

I just attended this years International Rhythmic Studies Association meeting, which took place in Svalöv, Sweden. These meetings are held annually and this was the fifth one, but the first one for me – a very nice couple of days of sharing and discussing ideas, thoughts and concepts about rhythm with people from all over the world.

Among many interesting masterclasses, Izumi Kimura gave an interesting one discussing some of Conlon Nancarrow´s piano music and Swedish composer Daniel Hjorth talked about an interesting piece of his, entitled “Beat For your Life”.

We also did a workshop and played an outdoor concert with The Opposite.
