I thought I’d start mentioning some recordings, concerts, books, articles & interviews that have been inspiring to me lately.

Going back six months or so, a couple of concerts that stand out in my mind are:

Bill Frisell Quartet @ Copenhagen Jazz House on November 16th, 2012
John Hébert with Benoît Delbecq & Gerald Cleaver @ Joe’s Pub, NYC on December 16th, 2012
Michaël Attias Spun Tree @ Cornelia Street Cafe’, NYC on December 19th, 2012
Sylvie Courvoisier & Mark Feldman @ Victoriateatern, Malmö on February 18th, 2013
Keith Jarrett (solo piano) @ Royal Festival Hall, London on February 25th, 2013

Some of the CD’s that I’ve been listening to a lot lately are:

Keith Jarrett: Sleeper / Rio (ECM)
Craig Taborn: Avenging Angel (ECM)
John Zorn/Bar Kokhba Sextet: 50th Birthday Celebration Volume 11 (Tzadik)
Eduard Tubin: The Symphonies (BIS)
Nina de Heney: III (Found You Recordings)
Tim Berne: Snakeoil (ECM)
Evan Parker/Barry Guy/Paul Lytton: Nightwork (Marge)

I have also been reading the book “Horizons Touched – The Music of ECM”, edited by Steve Lake & Paul Griffiths

More later, stay tuned…
