“COMPOSER IN RESIDENCE” AWARDED AT MANIFESTGALAN

“Composer in Residence” by Cecilia Persson & Norrbotten Big Band received the ”Best Jazz Album of 2016” award at the Swedish indie awards, Manifestgalan, held at Nalen in Stockholm on February 10th, with the following motivation:
“Toner som konstruerats med minutiös noggrannhet och mejslats ut med millimeterprecision. Progressiv jazz som uttrycker exakta känslor genom en ensemble av starka solister, samtidigt lyrisk och komplex. Storbandsjazz som är mer än storbandsjazz.”
This is the third album I’m on that receives this award. The Opposite won it in 2010 with “Intertwined” and so did Cecilia Persson’s “Open Rein” in 2014.
